Our Mission

Evergreen Classical School partners with parents to Biblically and Classically train their children to recognize, desire, and proclaim the Triune God of the Bible through that which is True, Good, and Beautiful.

Our chief end is to teach our students to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

The Evergreen Model

Three words that shape everything we do.

Students gathered closely around a book
I

Christian

We desire an environment where the Holy Spirit invites students to experience the fullness of Christ with their hearts, minds, and bodies. The common thread through every lesson is to make much of God, seeing things as He sees them, together.

II

Classical

An education dating back to the Greek and Roman tradition of educating for virtue and a life of goodness. Truth, Goodness, and Beauty motivate the pursuit of wisdom, and the Trivium of Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric meets each child at their stage of development.

III

Collaborative

Parents and teachers work together through a blended model. Teachers labor in loco parentis, “in the place of the parent,” on campus days, while parents lead guided lessons with provided curriculum at home.

How the hybrid model works
“Education is more than the transference of knowledge, it is the transmission of values, culture, and the proper ordering of loves.”
Ravi Jain & Kevin Clark, The Liberal Arts Tradition

Academics · The Trivium

Where three roads meet.

Classical education leverages the natural development of a child at every age, equipping students with the most important tools of learning: to read, memorize, understand, think, reason, write persuasively, and speak eloquently.

  1. Young students exploring in a garden bed

    Kinder Prep & Kindergarten

    Primer

Wonder at God’s creation, harnessing natural curiosity and a love of learning through discovery-based, hands-on lessons in a small, personal setting.

  2. A grammar school student writing in a notebook

    1st – 6th Grade

    Grammar

Observe and enjoy creation while building proficiency in reading, writing, arithmetic, and Latin, through song, recitation, poetry, Scripture, great art, and music.

  3. A logic school student raising his hand

    7th – 8th Grade

    Logic

Formal logic becomes a tool for ordering ideas, evaluating arguments, distinguishing excellent writing from poor, and defending the faith.

  4. A rhetoric school student studying

    9th – 12th Grade Now opening

    Rhetoric

Eloquence and persuasion in the spoken and written word, pursued with wisdom and discernment, through Worldview courses and the study of church doctrine.

“…enflamed with the study of learning, and the admiration of virtue; stirred up with high hopes of living to be brave men, and worthy patriots, dear to God.”
John Milton, Of Education

A Collaborative Week

The best of a classroom. The heart of the home.

Our hybrid model marries the best elements of a private Christian school and homeschooling. Students learn alongside classmates with professional teachers on campus, then continue at home with lesson plans provided by their teacher. No prior teaching experience is needed.

  • Small classrooms plus one-on-one tutoring at home
  • Core curriculum chosen by Evergreen; families may supplement
  • A smooth transition to college through time management and responsibility

Portrait of an Evergreen Student

By God’s grace, our students will…

  1. Claim Christ as Lord and Savior, the wellspring of all that is True, Good, and Beautiful.
  2. Think clearly, listen carefully with discernment, and reason persuasively.
  3. Join the great conversation as lifelong learners, socially graceful and spiritually gracious.
  4. Evaluate all knowledge in the light of Scripture, ready to give a defense for their hope with gentleness. (1 Peter 3:15)
